Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Manager to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will bring at least 6 years of experience in corporate IT environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 administration and information security. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in leadership or management roles. As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all corporate IT systems, leading the helpdesk team, ensuring robust network and security operations, and delivering a seamless IT experience for end-users.

 

The role requires a candidate who is proactive, results-driven, and able to assess and remediate deficiencies in the corporate IT environment. The candidate must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency when handling time-sensitive or security-related issues, ensuring that the company's IT infrastructure remains secure and operational at all times.

Responsibilities

· Helpdesk Leadership: Manage and assist the corporate helpdesk team, ensuring that user issues are promptly addressed. Manage escalations, track service levels, and ensure high-quality end-user support.

· Microsoft 365 Administration: Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 applications and services, including but not limited to Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Intune. Manage user accounts, licenses, security configurations, and device management policies through Intune.

· Cybersecurity Oversight: Maintain a strong cybersecurity posture across the IT environment. Implement, monitor, and update security protocols and tools (e.g., firewalls, endpoint protection). Ensure compliance with internal and external security standards and regulations.

· IT Infrastructure: Oversee workstation deployments, configuration, and management, administer Active Directory (AD) for user authentication, group policies, and overall system integrity. Manage the corporate network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity, performance, and security. Oversee the maintenance and configuration of physical IT hardware such as servers, routers, switches, and workstations.

· Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors, including the Managed Services Provider (MSP), to support infrastructure and software solutions, ensuring that the company’s IT needs are met. Maintain strong relationships with the MSP to manage service delivery, escalations, and performance.

· Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with security policies and protocols outlined in ISO 20000, ISO 27000-1, NIST 800-171, and CMMC frameworks. Regularly review and update security practices to meet these standards and ensure the company’s IT environment is aligned with best practices for information security and risk management.

· Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation for IT policies, procedures, network configurations, and system changes. Provide regular reports to senior leadership regarding IT performance, issues, and resolutions.

Qualifications

Required:

 

· Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate IT environments, with at least 1 year in a management or leadership role.

· Microsoft 365 Expertise: Significant hands-on experience with all aspects of Microsoft 365 administration, including user management, security configurations, application support, and Microsoft Intune for device management and security.

· Technical Skills: Expertise in Windows 11, Active Directory, general networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting.

· Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess and remediate issues, particularly in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.

· Communication: Strong and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and solutions in terms that are clear and understandable to non-technical users.

· Certifications (preferred but not required): Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+, or similar certifications.

· Compliance: Experience with Security Frameworks (preferred but not required): Experience with ISO-20000, ISO 27000-1, NIST 800-171, and CMMC frameworks is a plus.

Work Environment:

 

· This position will be based in the office 4 days per week in McLean, VA, with some flexibility for remote work, as necessary.

· Occasional on-call availability may be required to address critical issues.

· Reports to the IT Director
