The Storage Engineer supports the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network Labor Contract to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the DLIFLC Academic Network, which provides the IT environment for 100% of the DLIFLC teaching and instructing for all students, staff, faculty, and guests in a learning environment at the unclassified level.
· Is a part of the data center support group, tasked with configuring SAN/NAS systems, managing backup solutions, and maintaining the security of the data center.
· This position includes monitoring and providing daily support to ensure the health and availability of IT systems and infrastructure, both on-premises and for cloud-based programs and applications.
· Responsibilities involve planning, installation, and maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and managing all Storage Engineer servers and applications.
· The role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing an organization's data storage systems, working with networks, databases, and other high-capacity systems.
· The duties will include planning, installation, maintenance during or after-work hours, troubleshooting, and managing all Storage Engineer servers and applications.
· Configuration Management and Patching: Perform software installation, upgrades to operating systems and software packages, applying security patches, and maintaining operations of the Academic Network1.
· Backup and Restoration: Conduct and monitor daily Backup and restore activities for the Academic Network 1.
· Redundancy and Virtualization: Ensure a redundant solution capable of restoring the Academic Network functionality in the event of a catastrophic systems failure.
· Database Administration: Configure, operate, maintain, back up, and administer a Database Server utilizing Microsoft SQL Server.
Required:
· BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years experience in Network Engineering or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years experience.
· Require any one of the following IAT Level II (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification.
· Experience with SAN technologies in a highly virtualized and converged environment.
· Experience in maintaining a high-availability data center.
· Relevant skills include VMWare Vsphere, Linux Red Hat, Windows Server, SQL, MySQL, EMC SAN technologies and applications, and Active Directory.
· Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral Federal considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
