Overview

The Systems Engineer supports the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network Labor Contract to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the DLIFLC Academic Network, which provides the IT environment for 100% of the DLIFLC teaching and instructing for all students, staff, faculty, and guests in a learning environment at the unclassified level.

Responsibilities

· Serve in the datacenter support group, which includes the responsibilities of proper configuration and support of domain system servers, SAN, NAS, backup systems, identity management, and security of the datacenter.

· The duties include managing development/sustainment, staging, and production systems in a hybrid cloud/datacenter environment.

· The duties include planning, installation, maintenance during or after-work hours, troubleshooting, and managing all System servers and applications.

· System Engineering: Provide support for maintaining existing systems, new systems, and making recommendations for system modernization.

· System Architecture Document: Provide and maintain a System Architecture Document for the systems.

· Detailed Design Document: Provide a Detailed Design Document for the system.

Qualifications

Required:

 

· BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years experience in Systems Engineering, or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years experience.

· Require any one of the following IAT Level II (CySA+, Security+, CND, or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification.

· Experience serving as a system administrator for Microsoft O365, VMWare, Vsphere, and NSX-T, Linux Red Hat, Windows Server, SQL, MySQL, EMC SAN technologies and applications, Active Directory, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.

· Experience maintaining a high-availability datacenter.

· Expertise in operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, storage technologies, cloud computing platforms, and security best practices.

· Strong analytical abilities to diagnose complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
